Ben A’an; 09 March 2024

The weather is finally starting to turn in the Highlands! In celebration we took a small group up Ben A’an (‘Small, pointed peak’ in Gaelic). This small peak is famous for packing some great views for a relatively short climb. Starting on the shores of Loch Achray, it was a steep but quick climb up Ben A’an’s sheer trail to reach the top. From there we were treated to fantastic views of nearby Ben Venue, as well as across picturesque Loch Katrine, the source of Glasgow’s drinking water. On the way back we took a quick detour to the top of Meall Gainmheich, Ben A’an’s parent peak. Unfortunately, this summit did not have views to match is smaller neighbor. We then made our way back down to Loch Achray, were one of our group member’s dog decided to take a dip in the cold water.
