Chris spent 10 years as a United States Army Paratrooper prior to moving to Scotland. During that time he worked as a Scout Reconnaissance Officer, specializing leading groups of Paratroopers over long-distance movements through rough and rugged terrain while carrying heavy loads. While in the Army he demonstrated his leadership capabilities by leading Soldiers in combat operations in Kosovo, Egypt and Afghanistan. Chris attended the prestigious Army Ranger survival course (equivalent to British Commando School), as well the Army’s mountain survival, arctic survival, and combat life saver medical courses. These courses equipped him with a diverse set of skills, including survival tactics and the ability to thrive in extreme environments.
Outside the Army, Chris has had a passion for hillwalking his entire life, dating back to growing up in the mountains of Tennessee. Since relocating to Scotland, he has climbed more than two dozen Munros. He has led mountaineering expeditions in Alaska, the Alps and the Scottish Highlands, and is a member of the British Mountain Training institute.
